CLIMBING
Garda Trentino, above all Arco - world capital of climbing - seems to have been created for the most intrepid and audacious climbers of all time. The mountainside is dotted with marvellous crags immersed in the woods, sheer above the lake or rising from a prehistoric boulder-strewn landscape. Sports climbing has its roots here and has grown into one of the main local attractions, with the area hosting the oldest and most famous climbing competition in the world: Rockmaster. Rookies and pros flock to the mountains of Lake Garda in search of new routes, new experiences and constant personal growth. Apart from the natural crags, there are also some indoor climbing gyms in the area and the famous Climbing Stadium, venue of major international competitions.

Warning: Climbing and via ferratas can be hazardous activities without proper precautions and equipment. It is also essential to do this kind of activity in the right weather conditions and unless you are experienced, accompanied by local mountain guides.
VIA FERRATAS
More than just crags! The growth in popularity of sports climbing led to the creation of numerous via ferratas which with the right gear are also accessible to beginners. Via ferratas combine the excitement of mountain climbing with ease of access to crags and summits. Anchored to iron cables bolted to the rock, you can head for the sky and breathtaking rocky perches. Via ferratas also allow less expert climbers the thrill of scaling some of the most fascinating rock faces of Garda Trentino and the surrounding area.

The via ferratas dell’Amicizia and Fausto Susatti (Riva del Garda), Colodri-Colt (Arco), Rio Sallagoni (Drena), Che Guevara (Pietramurata), Rino Pisetta (Sarche) and Ottorino Marangoni (Mori) are just some of the many via ferratas in Garda Trentino and the surrounding area you can’t afford to miss.
